The Shining by Stephen King

The Shining

The Shining, a horror novel by Stephen King, is an impeccable tale of extreme cabin fever with a hefty dose of "the destructive nature of alcoholism".
The setting and characters are influenced by King's personal experiences, including both his visit to The Stanley Hotel in 1974 and his struggle with alcoholism.
The supernatural elements might actually seem to take a backseat to the very real horror of what it's like living with someone struggling through addiction.
The depth of the characters King creates and the way he sees their story through to the conclusion isn’t often seen in books.
The Shining is a true classic of horror literature.
For all the bibliophiles and future bibliophiles , Here’s the first novel recommendation. This book is a gothic horror novel, first published in 1977. Eclipsed perhaps only by it’s 1980 film adaptation, the novel is one of the most enduring horror stories of all times.
